Due to the tourist influx of the summer months (between June and September) traffic with private vehicles is restricted. For this reason, it has enabled a parking located at KM 6.2 near Madre de Dios de Artiga’ chapel, were you can find the interpretation centre. At this point, it can be used the tourist train service or continue walking to the refugee (45 minutes approximately)
History
Artiga de Lin is the starting point of many excursions and ascents to the Aneto and Maladeta area. Also to the mythical hill such as the Aranesi, the one of the Picada and the One of Hòro, places very linked to the most intense history of the Pyrenees.
These hills, due to their proximity to France and the Benasque Valley, have long been used by hikers, shepherds, smugglers and fugitives.
